vFairs Monthly Product Updates – October 2022

Are you ready for a rundown of the exciting updates we have for you? This month, we have some additions and feature enhancements in our mobile app to add to the vFairs experience!

Updates on the Mobile App

Here are a few updates we’ve made within our mobile app to give you the best event hosting experience you could ask for.

Multilingual Capability (French, Arabic)

Previously, the mobile app only supported the English language. Now, you can also access French and Arabic language options to the mobile app for events.

The vFairs mobile app will now have a language setting when you go to the login page. There will be a dropdown menu on the top-right corner of the sign-in page, where you can see options for English, French, and Arabic.

Once you have chosen a language, they will see content in their chosen language, as shown below.

The above screenshot shows the webinar listing in Arabic.

In-App Registration for White Label Apps

If you’re using a white-labelled app at your next event, your visitors can now sign up or register for an event from the app itself, for white label apps.

When users open up the app and get to the sign in page, they’ll see a registration button below the sign in field and button. This button will let new users register for the event from the white label mobile app directly.

Once the new users click on the register button, they’ll be directed to a registration form within the app itself.

To enable this feature, let your relevant product manager know, and they’ll take care of the rest.

Booth View Restrictions

Previously, booth reps could view all the booths present at an event in the mobile app. This meant that they could access booths which they did not own as well.

Now, you can restrict booth reps from viewing other booths in the mobile app. This means that they will only be able to view and access their own booths.

The process for restricting booth reps from viewing other booths is quite simple. You just have to switch on the relevant toggle in the backend, as shown below.

For example, if this setting is enabled for a vFairs booth rep, this is what the rep will see on the mobile app.

Updates to the Event Backend

This month, there’s also an interesting update for people who use the event backend.

Attendee Registration Fields in User Listings

As an event organizer, registrations benefit you in collecting information about users, getting to know your audiences better, and planning ahead for future events. Suppose your virtual event draws attendees from various regions and countries. In that case, it should be convenient for you to filter users based on any custom fields you added to the registration form.

To enhance results while you search and filter attendees on the backend, we now have the ability to search users based on custom registration fields. This action is achievable by clicking on the action-type drop-down “More” button in the user listing on the event backend.

Updates to Roundtable Networking

Our native roundtable networking feature has also received some exciting new updates.

Capacity Expansion

Roundtables previously could only support 1-8 seats. With the new update, Roundtables will now support up to 16 seats. The process of selecting seats and creating roundtables will remain the same.

Seat Reservation Capabilities

Backend Users will now be able to reserve seats for end users on the roundtables. This can be easily configured by clicking on the “reserved users” checkbox and choosing the names of the users that backend users want to select. The list of users entails all user types and has no limitations on that front.

On the frontend, the reserved users will always occupy a seat at the roundtable. Their pictures/initials will always show on the roundtable. Additionally, there will be online/offline indicators, to show if the user is actually on the roundtable.

There will also be a text box that will show the details of the moderators.

More October 2022 Product Updates

  • Chat Queue Tracking

We have introduced tracking for the chat queue feature (please note that is tracking and not backend reporting). The tracking metrics are as follows:

  1. The time that an attendee joins an exhibitors queue
  2. The time that a queued chat is “started”
  3. The time that a queued chat is “ended”
  4. If a queued chat is extended or not, and if so, for what duration of time
  5. If a queued chat is paused or not, and if so, for what duration of time
  6. Who the queued chat is ended by (did the exhibitor click on the end button, or did the attendee leave the conversation)
  • Inclusive Avatars

New avatars have been added to the booths to reaffirm the vFairs commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
