Before partnering with vFairs, The Black Virtual Mall faced a series of challenges:

Immersive Environment
Working with vFairs, Selolwane created a virtual mall that mirrors a real-life multi-storey mall with a food court and cinema. The attention to detail, such as level-reflective window designs and culturally representative avatars, brought authenticity to the virtual mall. Seasonal design changes were also made to celebrate events like Halloween and Christmas.
Payment Portals
vFairs’ integrations with various payment portals brought the mall concept to life. This feature eliminated the need for organizers to deal directly with sales, enabling visitors to make purchases instantly at the shops.
Vendor Booths
Different tiers were designed for various kiosks, shops, and premium stores to cater to diverse vendor needs. Each shop section could be individually linked for visitors to directly purchase a product, bypassing multiple landing pages. Business owners were also allowed to upload welcome videos to their booths, simulating the experience of a shop greeter.
Scavenger Hunt
To improve interaction and engagement, The Black Virtual Mall organized holiday events such as a scavenger hunt. Gamification elements like leaderboards were introduced to enhance the visitor experience.
Food Court
In a first-of-its-kind feature, the food court was integrated with various food delivery services. This allowed Black-owned eateries to set up booths and enabled visitors to order food directly to their homes.
The Results
